We had a few hugs and howdys, and I told her that I am back at the CU. SHIP stands for State Housing Initiative Program and is designed to get first time homeowners into new homes. I shared with her my participation here with the Cantys, and she gave me her number. Well, the Cantys are in Gadsden County, and, if you put 2+2 together, this means a dream come through for Angela and MItchell!. They want to build a house in the worse kind of way. I can't wait to call Angela tomorrow and get these two together!!!
Something, however you may interpret it, put me in the new Walmart (where I avoid like the plague) and into contact with Phyllis, after about 4 years. Who's running this show? I have no idea.... but someone somewhere is seeing what I can contribute to making better lives.....And I love my sense of purpose!
I will have TONS of fresh tomatos, a few green peppers, eggplant, fresh basil and italian flat-leaf parsley. If you spend a little time outside, the costs are minimal. And the reward of a fresh beefsteak tomato plucked from the garden on a hot summer day, with a little salt and pepper: PRICELESS!
I really would like to have had more time with the Cantys, but we did get a lot accomplished. One of the things good that we did is that we called Balance, and spoke with Nicholas there. What a nice knowledgeable person. We learned that it WILL be possible to enroll Mitchell ONLY in a Balance sponsored Debt Repayment Plan. And we ALSO learned that Mitchell won't need bills for all his creditors to particpate in their program. Normally this is required, but since Mitchell's debt is all old, he does not get bills in the mail anymore. Nick told us that we can use his credit file to substitute for actual bills. SUCCESS!!!!
I had worried about this, since #1, I used to work for an agency comparable to Balance, and #2, I was once in a Debt Repayment Plan. Yes, even financial counselors screw up sometimes.
The other thing we did is to gather a list of items for Angela to bring in so we can open their business account for the lawn care business.
Hey - be sure to ask the Canty's for one of their business cards - one of their new WELIVEFITCHALLENGE business cards! These things are so awesome, it never ceases to amaze me what kind of tricks our Marketing Department can come up with. These guys are BEYOND clever in my book!
Later....I have homemade spaghetti sauce simmering on the stove. I have to do this on Saturday nights because Christy, my co-worker, says I smell like a walking garlic bulb if I eat this on a weeknight.
She wasn't seriously hurt, just hit from behind, her stuff went flying everywhere, and today she is sore BIGTIME!
I can't wait to see her Monday, we have a lot to talk about.
I really enjoyed talking to Angela today at our coaching session. I can tell she means business with this whole thing. Her game plan is awesome, replete with a schedule to get every one of their debts paid off. I feel like we have really bonded. Mitchell and Angela are going to come in to see me (Yippee!!!!!) at the branch, I have so many things I want to share with them that I can't do here. And I just need more TIME with them. Lot's of ideas to share.
Wow, this is a first! I'm 47 years old and never "blogged". I thought a "blog" was a serious clog (replace c with the b), as in the kitchen sink.
Anyway - I am hoping to talk about a couple of things this weekend here. I'll be working out at the the Bradfordville Branch on Saturday from 9-1pm. So I have a jammed schedule (I'm hoping to get my garden started, too), but - I hope to touch on a couple of things -
- EIC and the Advanced Payment Option for increasing your take-home pay
- Tallahassee Lender's Consortium (Awesome program for 1st time home buyers)
Good Night, and...........................
GO CANTY'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
