Shaw - The Measure of Success
"AND THE WINNER IS...."
Hearing that statement with our name at the end of it would be incredible! We would be so very thankful.
But in order to even come near at all to that possibility we need to enjoy the little successes along the way. The simple steps in the process that get us closer to that big prize.
What are those steps?
1) Planning out a monthly budget and sticking to it.
Not dreading it but knowing that by doing that you are gaining your freedom. It's the path to financial freedom even though so many see a budget as a negative, restrictive type of lifestyle.
2) Celebrate the little financial victories.
Finding a sale on something you need but didn't expect to find. Having your daughter suggest going to Goodwill to shop for a dress for a wedding to save money. Friends treating you to lunch. Someone paying your fees to a Couples Retreat at your church. Nodding at your desk when a co-worker offers to buy you a coffee. :D
3) Don't sweat the small stuff. (a quote from my sister)
There are some things that are more important than money and of course we would all agree one of those things is our family. So when it comes time for some rewards for their efforts at school, for example, or some outstanding deeds or successes, it may require to reward them financially. It may cost us more than we feel we can afford but really it's probably one of the best investments we could ever make.
So no matter where anybody is financially, there are little successes that you should enjoy and find encouragement in as you strive to the goal of being Financially Independent Today!!
God bless you,
The Shaw Family
