Shaw - "Ladies and Gentlemen, Start Your Engines!"
After racing around the track in this competition, it's become apparent that we needed a pit stop. You know... check the tires, the oil, refuel and rehydrate. So we're back in the saddle after regrouping, reorganizing and setting some new goals.
Yes, don't count us out! We're in it to win it!
The Shaw's have found some new life and we're ready to press on. Coming through the first elimination was an amazing accomplishment and we have those who have committed themselves to supporting us to thank. We've heard so many people tell us about how dedicated they've been voting for us that it has totally blown us away. We have truly been so encouraged by the community and how they've rallied behind us so far. Incredible!!!
Now we're more focused, more determined and more aware of how much work we've got to do to really take this challenge all the way. We sat down last night with all our current numbers from the bank, our budget we got from Balance, http://www.balancepro.net/ (the free financial service offered by Florida Commerce Credit Union) and our bills. It's probably one of the things in life I dislike the most. Thanks to my wonderfully patient and intelligent wife we were able to be very productive as we assessed where we are and where we're going. It's a very tight budget. Imagine trying to get through the most dense crowd, like at a concert trying to get to the front of the stage or a massive exiting out of DisneyWorld on their most popular day. Think of it as if you're working your way through that crowd with the urgency of getting to see your favorite act on stage or being the first to get out of that crowded parking lot at Disney or even more urgent, like trying to find your lost child in that crowd.
Yes, that's the image I get when I think of how tight our budget is and the urgency of getting through it and out to the other side with my whole family intact. That motivates me to be persistent daily to stay on task with our budget, to be more dedicated to get free of this debt knowing that my family will be so much better off mentally, physically and spiritually on the other side of it.
Again, thank you to all who are supporting us on our journey out of debt. I pray that you too are finding some motivation, some realization that it's possible to get out from under your debt.
