Do you feel the oil is going to impact our local economy? If so, how?
As someone who grew up a stone's throw from Panama City Beach, I'm worried my daughter won't get to experience the white sandy beaches I grew up taking for granted. Then again, Kevin Costner's going to save the day, right?

The other night I was reading Ashley "The Lorax" by Dr.Suess, and she asked me if the same thing was happening with "our fishy" ... that really broke my heart!! We love the beach so much because its a quick get-away. I want them to be able to remember the fun family times there, not the oil. I'm afraid that down the road it will impact our local & neighboring communities more than anyone could expect. Why would people from far away plan a trip to "our" beaches when they could use their hard earned vacation leave and go to other beaches that are free of oil? Locally, I see trucks pulling boats through town every weekend and stopping for gas/food/ice before they reach the coast. If they can't fish, they won't be coming through here. I just wonder how long it will effect the area? Some predictions that I have heard are 10+ years...that's just depressing any way you look at it: for the kids, the economy and all the wildlife. Kevin Costner seems to have the best ideas I've heard so far......why won't they just listen to him?
